Tom Blankenhorn is an international tax and finance strategist who works with early-stage founders - especially location-independent entrepreneurs and agency owners - to get clarity on cash, structure and next steps. He combines a corporate accounting background with hands-on startup experience, bringing a practical, questioning style that helps founders stop “filling in spreadsheets” and start building plans that reflect reality.
Tom trained as an accountant and spent several years at PwC across Argentina and London. He later moved into independent work, building a distributed team that supports clients with fractional CFO support and international tax planning.
Alongside client work, Tom has been on the founder journey himself. He co-created a VR walking tour concept that is operating commercially in Prague and Malaga - a real-world grounding in product launch, early traction, and the trade-offs between a “good business” and a venture-scale one.

Tom typically engages as a fractional CFO-style partner or advisor. He prefers to stay on the strategic side (asking the right questions, building strategy and checking plans), while his team can support with the heavier modelling work when needed.
Tom is a strong fit for founders who are early in the journey (pre-revenue to early revenue), and who need help making the financial side feel structured and decision-ready - without pretending certainty exists where it doesn’t. He’s particularly relevant for: founders building a new product or business model with lots of unknowns service businesses (especially marketing/creative/e-commerce agencies) that need stronger cash flow visibility and financial strategy globally mobile founders who need to think clearly about international setup and tax basics.
