Rebecca Trengove is a board member, strategic advisor and angel investor who helps organisations cut through complexity and make better decisions on strategy, people, governance and performance. She brings senior leadership experience across the public sector, membership organisations and higher education, alongside a strong track record in marketing, communications, corporate affairs and international business development.
Rebecca spent nine years at the University of Dundee, including as Director of External Relations, leading a large cross-functional directorate spanning student recruitment and admissions, marketing and communications, public affairs, web/creative services, alumni relations and fundraising. She has experience managing significant budgets and income responsibility, and is known for quickly absorbing information, analysing what matters, and turning it into a practical plan that people can execute.
Alongside executive roles, Rebecca has substantial non-executive experience. She has held NED roles including welfare and safeguarding remit (and Audit and Risk Committee membership) at Triathlon Scotland, and she is currently a Member Director at Mint Ventures - where she is also an active angel investor in purpose-led, early-stage businesses.
Rebecca is best suited to early-stage founders and small teams who want a clear, calm external perspective - particularly on strategy, scalability, messaging, governance and people decisions. She is sector-agnostic and has worked across government, education and a broad range of business contexts, making her especially useful when the challenge is leadership and decision-making rather than technical domain detail.
