Michael Croton is a communications and strategy advisor who helps founders and leadership teams find the story that moves people - investors, customers and internal teams. He’s particularly strong at turning complex thinking into a clear narrative and value proposition, then shaping that into practical outputs founders can use immediately (from an elevator pitch through to a full pitch deck and pitch delivery). Michael’s career spans both corporate leadership and advisory work. He set up Albion Communication in 2009 to work 1:1 with CEOs and other leaders to:
Michael has also worked with the leaders of small organisations including Protect, a whistleblowing charity based in the UK, and Pacific Business Group on Health, a US-based nonprofit coalition of private and public employers that advocates for change in the healthcare industry. Before setting up Albion, he led global communication teams at BP, Barclays and Boots. He began his career as a change management consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and with VIA International, a change consultancy that he helped bootstrap its way from 6 to 60 people. While he hasn’t worked inside a venture-backed startup, he enjoys the pace and urgency of early-stage environments and has supported organisations through high-growth phases. Founders often thank him for helping them “find their voice” and “connect the dots”.
A 1:1 session with Michael is best suited to founders (pre-seed to Series A) who have something valuable but are struggling to articulate it clearly - whether for investors, customers, partners or hiring. He’s especially valuable when your ideas are solid, but your communication isn’t connecting, or if you’re getting ready for an important pitch and want your story to be clearer, more concise, and believable.
A 1:1 with Michael is a practical working session and typically focuses on:
Michael acts as a coach and advisor, providing guidance that helps founders clarify their ideas and leave with actionable improvements to their story.
