Jeff Jones

Bio

Jeff Jones is a sales-led growth advisor, exited founder and co-founder of The Investors Panel, supporting founders with fundraising strategy, go-to-market execution and the practical realities of scaling. He brings 30+ years’ experience building and leading high-performing sales teams and commercial functions across technology (SaaS, systems integration, managed services, outsourcing) and recruitment/workforce solutions.

Jeff has worked on both sides of the boardroom table, with experience across equity raises, portfolio support, strategic reviews, recruitment and hiring, partnerships, M&A and integration, turnaround and exit planning. His style is pragmatic and collaborative - he aims to help founders make better decisions and show up well in investor conversations, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all “cookie cutter” approach.

Alongside his advisory work, Jeff has been running The Investors Panel for the last six years and has recent, hands-on experience supporting raises (including multiple £1m rounds in recent months). He’s also candid about what doesn’t work - having seen boards and advisory arrangements that look good on paper but fail in practice - and uses that insight to help founders build the right support around them.

Focus of 1-2-1 Session

Jeff is best suited to founders of early-stage to scaling B2B businesses - especially SaaS, tech-enabled services, systems/managed services, and recruitment/workforce solutions - who want to tighten the commercial plan and fundraising approach. He’s particularly useful when a founder has a solid product but needs to sharpen the route to revenue, improve investor readiness, or build a credible sales engine.

A 1:1 with Jeff is a practical working session and typically focuses on:

  • Fundraising readiness and strategy - pressure-testing the investment story, funding plan, and what collateral you actually need (deck, narrative, numbers) to raise with confidence.
  • Go-to-market and sales execution - defining a realistic GTM motion, building early sales frameworks, and avoiding common traps that waste time and money. Investor engagement approach - how you want support to show up (e.g., marketing only vs involvement in meetings), how to run a process, and what “good” looks like from the founder side.
  • Strategic review and next-step focus - a clear-eyed view of what’s working, what’s not, and the few priorities that will move the needle over the next 60-90 days.
  • Leadership and team-building - recruiting and enabling sales talent, and building a culture where targets, accountability and support coexist.

Jeff typically engages as an advisor and mentor and can support founders beyond a 1:1 through structured fundraising and GTM work. Through The Investors Panel, he also offers a clear commercial model (engagement fee plus success fee) for founders who want deeper support through a raise.
